StarWars.com

I was ecstatic to be able to work on this prestigious site as an employee of Cybersight, which won the contract for the 5th design iteration since it's original inception. My role focused primarily on building out the Community section, and entailed the creation of and optimization of graphical elements such as touts, icons, and banners, as well as development of HTML templates with Javascript, and back end functionality in ASP and SQL.

Banc of America Securities
Consulted for the GCIB team to restructure and redesign the Banc of America Securities Corporate & Institutional Research Portal for institutional investors. Solely responsible for translating business requirements and usability standards into an intuitive set of wireframes and a site map, and those into a clean, usable interface. The multi-iterative process included wireframing, site mapping, design mock-ups which adhered to bank standards, and HTML/CSS templates to hand off to .Net developers. Communicated with a team in Chicago via my own functional intranet site.

Qwest Communications
Contracted for Qwest to interface with their Human Factors Engineering team to cull results of usability testing and use them as a basis for creating a more intuitive site structure for the redesign on Qwest.com. Responsible for the online ordering process of Qwest products. Revamped the entire concept and brought orders up 15% in the first month after release. Process included usability testing in a lab, wireframing, design mockups, and HTML/CSS templates.

Visa.com
Visa.com and the related Visa Online web service and intranet were another good learning experience. The main goal in this financial site project was to develop a user-friendly, easily navigable, and simply designed intranet to manage several Visa product sites and their international company news board. Focused on site useability for the global market and consistent information architecture. In addition to the basic design, I was responsible for migration of elements through Interwoven Teamsite and updates on separate servers. I ensured monthly postings of online articles and press releases using a tracking system (PVCS) and a customized administrative tool. Learned XML and XSL to implement for live feeds. Skills utilized included HTML, Javascript, DHTML, ASP, SQL.

Wells Fargo Financial
As an on-the-fence developer for a creative media firm, I worked with this financial client to coordinate both the graphical elements and the programming end of the current advertising campaigns. Design responsibilities included ensuring useability of design and creating templates, banner ads, touts, and icons as well as optimizing images. As a developer I handled intranet creation and posting and modified existing code on the main site in JSP. Also utilized HTML, Javascript, CSS.

Nat Sherman Tobacconists
Nat Sherman was a Cold Fusion driven corporate site with comprehensive e-commerce functionality. As Project Manager, Developer, and Designer all in one after massive layoffs, I became responsible for every aspect of this site, including maintenance of the database in SQL Server, cleaning up of functionality by writing and troubleshooting queries, graphics creation and modification, Cold Fusion programming and basic HTML/Javascript/CSS. Project manager responsibilities included setting up hosting and connectivity, scoping projects.

agnes b. Fashions
agnes b's site was a fully functional e-commerce store built in Cold Fusion with a SQL database. I was responsible for both design (including photos optimization and site element creation) and development (coding of the back end and the corresponding admin tool with Cold Fusion).

AsiaWorks Stock Photography
While in Asia I came across this stock photography site and was intrigued by the content. I wrote them an inquiry to see if they needed any web help and ended up with a project. This entailed design of 3 alternate entrances (each on different domains) to their main site, each targeting a different aspect of their business. I created small touts and banner ads to bring attention to the important details. On top of the design I was to help them solidify a marketing plan and optimize their pages to up their rankings in search engine results. I completed all of these tasks successfully and plan to work with them on future projects as needed.

Oregon Health Sciences University
This position focused on the building of the OHSU web site, specifically the Primary Care Provider Directory and the Dotter Institute sub-sites. Utilized graphics skills, HTML, Javascript (DHTML), basic ASP. Worked independently, collaborating occasionally with engineers and designers in implementing the final product.
