HISTORY
| I have more than 9
years' experience in the web
industry, primarily with interactive media
agencies, as both a contractor
and an employee. Most of my work has been done independently, offsite, with a couple of exceptions.
The wide variety
of clients, projects, and technologies
utilized in this fast-paced
industry necessarily put me
right on the fence as far as
my skillset is concerned- I
am very balanced between being
a designer and a developer,
and I am competent at and enjoy
both. During the so-called "crash"
and after the World Trade Center
attacks in NY, there were such
massive layoffs in this industry
that I found myself taking on multiple roles as the sole person remaining on a team, including site evaluation and information architecture, usability-focused
UI design, development, project
management, web marketing, search
engine optimization, and QA
testing. This necessarily facilitated my quick adjustment to working independently
and face-to-face with clients
in a very high pressure environment.

PRESENT
|
Most recently I have found myself
working more with user experience and human factors
teams to ensure a wrinkle free human-computer interaction. I am an Information Architect, a User Experience Designer, or an Interaction Designer, depending on how you look at it and what aspects of the process I handle in a project. I am capable of implementing a reliable process flow for a development cycle (and team) that does not already have one in place. I am capable of managing projects on my own, as well as communicating goals and needs effectively within a team. I do some design and some basic development.
I am meticulously organized and
intuitive in my design. I have found that I enjoy working in young progressive companies on products that are both challenging and fun. |

FUTURE
| In my future position (contract or full time) I plan to help strengthen the communication and define a process that gets results with a User Experience team. My role can be anything from Project Manager to Information Architect (preferred), to UI Designer, to front end Developer. My criteria is that I be able to work offsite from my home office in Thailand. I am expert at working independently, juggling multiple projects, with minimal necessary contact. Once I have all the specs for a project, I can take it and run with it. Though I also believe in the importance of a team effort, and believe a once a week meeting is critical, and I would even be open to a once a month face to face meeting. I can adjust my situation a bit to match a company's needs, but ultimately would like to establish a healthy, long term working relationship with a stable, progressive American company. |
